WTCC Star Driver

Triple World Touring Car Champion Andy Priaulx reclaimed his record for the most WTCC victories in the history of the series by securing his 16th win at the FIA WTCC Marriot Race of UK.

The British driver had a tough start to the weekend after being demoted 10 places on the grid due to engine issues, but he fought hard to charge from 16th to 8th before claiming the win in race two. “It is lovely to win here at Brands Hatch,” said Priaulx after receiving a heartfelt round of applause from BMW fans. “You’re always relieved at the end of a weekend because there is a lot of pressure. There is no better feeling than driving away from the weekend with some really good points in the bag.”

After having driven in every WTCC season to date, the BMW driver has spent an important period of his career racing on YOKOHAMA tyres. “This year’s tyres are a step forward,” continued Priaulx. “They are very reliable and constant on the BMW: I am very happy with them.”
