STCC - Falkenberg, race report

Volvo drivers Robert Dahlgren and Tommy Rustad claimed victory at rounds nine and 10 of the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC), held at Falkenberg, Sweden, on 12-13 July 2010. Dahlgren secured pole during Saturday’s qualifying session setting a fastest lap of 45.628.

First on the grid for race one, Dahlgren had a strong start and managed to pull away from the rest of the field to claim the race one victory and his third win of the season, ahead of BMW’s Thed Björk, who crossed the finish line in second place. Richard Göransson completed the top-three finishing third.

Tommy Rustad secured his second win of the season during race two, leading the race from start to finish. Göransson was close to Rustad but did not manage to pass him and had to accept a second-place finish, followed by Dick Sahlén to complete the podium.

Rounds 11 and 12 of the STCC rounds will take place at Karlskoga, Sweden, on 13-14 August 2010.
