German Formula 3 - 2010 Nürburgring

25 Jul 10

French driver Tom Dillmann claimed two strong victories in rounds nine and ten of the ATS Formula 3 Cup, held at the Nürburgring, Germany, on 24-25 July 2010.

After qualifying second for race one with a fastest lap time of 1:20.981 the HS Technik Motorsport driver took advantage of a collision at the start between Stef Dusseldorp and Daniel Abt of Van Amersfoort Racing to take the lead. Dillmann  started to build an extensive gap between him and the rest of the field to cross the finish line first, 23.680 seconds ahead of Felix Rosenqvist in second place. Willi Steindl completed the top-three behind the wheel of his Dallara F 307 Volkswagen.

Dillmann started race two on pole and drove straight to the chequered flag to secure the race two victory. Behind him, Rosenqvist repeated his race one result, claiming another second-place finish, followed by Abt in third.

“I had a very strong start and I was very fast in both races so I could build a good gap between me and the rest of the group,” said Dillman. “This is a fantastic result for me and the team and I can only be very happy!”

Rounds 11 & 12 of the ATS Formula 3 Cup will take place at the TT Circuit Assen, Germany, on 7-8 August 2010.
